Flamekist

Appearance: The fruit has a round shape and a red blush on a green-yellow background colour. The flesh is yellow in colour with red around the stone cavity. It is a cling-stone.

Harvested: beginning to mid - February.

Owner of variety: The Flamekist originated in the USA as a seedling of self-pollinated Golden King. It was released in South Africa in 1968.

Taste and texture: The taste is good and the texture is slightly stringy but firm and melting.
