Songold
Appearance: The Songold has a conical shape and is yellow-green when picked but turns yellow with a red blush when ripe. The flesh is yellow in colour and it has a cling stone. Harvested: late January to early February Owner of variety: The Songold was bred by Infruitec in South Africa from a cross between Wickson and Golden King. It was released in 1970. Taste and texture: The taste is very good and the texture is semi-melting and firm. |
