Beurre Bosc
Appearance: The skin is yellowish green to brown when picked, covered with a network of cinnamon russeting. The background colour is golden brown when ripe.
Owner of variety: The Beurre Bosc originated in France as a chance seedling. The Beurre Bosc is a medium to large, rough-skinned pear with a distinctive symmetrical shape, a long thin tapering neck and slim stem. Taste and texture: The firm flesh is cream coloured and the texture is slightly coarse, but tender. The taste is aromatic and sweet. |
