Duncan's Gold

Appearance: The skin has a fine golden russet covering. The base colour is green, turning to yellow which accentuates the golden colour.

Harvested: early to mid-February

Owner of variety: Duncans Gold originated in South Africa and was discovered on the farm of Angus Duncan of Piketberg. It was a chance seedling of unknown parentage. It is thought that Williams Bon Chretien may be one of the parents.

Taste and texture: It has an excellent flavour.
