New on Board Following the Capespan Group's shareholding restructuring in January this year, Dr Paul Clüver has again been elected chairman for a further term. The two new board members are Crispin Sonn and Antonie Jacobs.

Dr Clüver has been chairman of the Capespan Group since 1999. He holds various degrees, to include a Masters in Medicine and an Honorary Doctorate in Agriculture. He also worked as a senior consultant in neurosurgery at UCT and Stellenbosch University, where he's Council chairman currently. Apart from his achievements, such as Farmer of the Year in 1995 and Cape Times/KPMG Business Personality of the Year in 2005, he concentrates on his farming activities in the Grabouw area, where he farms with wine grapes, apples and pears. Dr Clüver serves on various other boards, including Fyffes plc, Wines of South Africa (WOSA) and APL Cartons.

Crispin Sonn, executive director at Old Mutual SA, is a graduate from UCT with a BA in Social Sciences and Humanities. He obtained an Honours degree in Business and Administration at Stellenbosch University and also completed the International Training Programme at Harvard University. Sonn serves on several boards and is the recipient of numerous accolades and awards. He's non-executive chairman of Feedback Food Redistribution, as well as non-executive director for both the LEAP Schools programme and Old Mutual Foundation.

Antonie Jacobs is CEO of PSG Group's Zeder Investments. A qualified chartered accountant, he also holds an MComm (Tax) from the University of Stellenbosch and an LLB from Unisa. Initially he was a senior lecturer in Tax and Accountancy at Stellenbosch University, followed by the positions financial director of Winecorp Limited and MD of KLK Landbou Beperk.
